Recognized for driving high-impact ventures, she combines strategic vision with hands-on execution to deliver measurable outcomes for people, nature, and investors. As Executive Director of Verdama Earth, she leads the company’s strategic growth, operational excellence, and delivery of results that meet both impact goals and investor expectations. Martina holds an MBA from the University of Münster and serves as a non-executive director and advisor for several initiatives focused on conservation and natural capital.

Javier Santoyo

Director of Partnerships

With over 20 years of experience in corporate sustainability and climate policy, Javier is a recognized voice in climate and nature finance. He has operated across the entire carbon markets’ value chain,  with key players such as specialised consultancies, standards, traders and advocacy organisations, as well as advising major corporations and brands,  NGOs, and national and supranational institutions in Europe and The Americas. His expertise includes sustainability strategy, stakeholder engagement, ecosystem services markets, and the evolution and alignment of voluntary and compliance markets. Javier holds an MBA from Kent Business School and degrees in biology and computer systems engineering, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA).

Karo Krakowiak

Project and Operations Manager

Karo brings years of experience leading projects, driving strategies, overseeing operations, and developing products for both new ventures and established initiatives. Her expertise spans sustainability, carbon markets and nature-based solutions, with a particular focus on regenerative agriculture and animal welfare, including fieldwork and stakeholder management across international supply chains. Backed by a strong scientific foundation with a Bachelor’s in Biomedical Engineering and a Master of Science in Sustainability, she has conducted academic research on nature-based solutions and our relationship with nature. At Verdama, Karo currently focuses on project development, business development, and operations management.

Marco Calderón

Technical Lead

With over 16 years of experience in sustainability leadership, Marco is a recognized expert in environmental innovation. He has led multicultural teams across multiple countries, working with governments, NGOs, and private organizations to bridge science, policy, and business. Marco translates technical insights into scalable strategies, driving carbon and environmental projects through technology roadmaps and digital MRV systems. As Technical Lead at Verdama Earth, he drives NCS and ESM strategies. Marco holds a PhD in Integrated Modelling of Sustainable Systems from Deakin University.

Giselle Guillén

Stakeholder Relations Coordinator

With over two decades of experience, Giselle is a legal specialist focusing on community engagement. She speciliasis in maritime and fisheries law within a family-owned legal and environmental corporation in Honduras. Her expertise includes the development and enforcement of the Caribbean Fisheries Traceability and Certification System for Honduran lobster destined for the European market. She has also played a key role in negotiating economic treaties with international partners, including Taiwan, Colombia, and the European Union.

Ambassador Ramón Custodio Espinoza is one of Latin America’s most experienced diplomats, having been appointed Ambassador or DCM to a host of nations, including the United States, Germany, Belguim and the European Union.  While Ramón’s background is in international business transactions, his portfolio has included advising international conglomerates on sustainability, public policy and security.  Ramón is passionately committed to preserving and regenerating vital ecosystems in Honduras, in close partnership with local communities.
